Kashmiri Kahwa tea is a traditional tea preparation made from green tea and spices from the Kashmir region in India. Every family in this region has its own recipe for this tea, which consists of green tea (from the neighboring Kangra region) and the spices traditionally used in Kashmir. The Silk Road ran through Kashmir, where these spices were traded. The tea preparation has a stimulating effect thanks to the green tea, cardamom and cloves, but the addition of cinnamon and saffron has a balancing and relaxing effect. The tea also improves digestion and has an antioxidant effect.
Preparation: for a stimulating effect, pour hot water over the tea bag and let it steep for 3-5 minutes. If you brew the tea with 80 degree water, the green tea will be less intense, but also not as bitter. The bag can be brewed a second time; the effect will then be more relaxing.
