Indian stinging nettle
The Indian Buntnessel (Coleus Forskohlii) is a plant species that occurs in tropical regions of Africa, Asia and the Arabian Peninsula. In Ayurvedic medicine, it is used as an antihypertensive agent, for bronchial asthma, green star (reduces intraocular pressure in glaucoma) and heart failure. The plant is laxative and diuretic, is used for stomach pain and puffiness. Coleus has a digestive effect with low gastric acidity and a lack of pancreatic enzymes.
The active ingredient in stinging nettle is forskolin, an essential oil that also has antibacterial properties.
It also has a vasodilator effect which has a hypotensive and anticonvulsant effect on the bronchi (beneficial in asthma). In chronic bladder infections, it prevents the encapsulation of the bacteria in the flexible mucous membrane of the bladder and finally eliminates the cause of the bladder infection.
It transports the bacteria-filled sacs to the cell surface and the bacteria can be flushed out with the urine.
Forskolin also strengthens the body's defenses by activating macrophages and lymphocytes.
