Kapha energy gives stability and endurance, regulates the fluid balance. It means moisture, fullness, strength and firmness, rest, endurance, long-term thinking and acting. Too much of Kapha manifests itself in physical and mental sluggishness, heaviness, overweight, water retention, excessive mucus formation, susceptibility to colds, allergies, diabetes, high levels of fat in the blood.
Excessive Kapha is balanced by: easily digestible foods, spicy, bitter and bitter foods and medicinal plants, fasting, warm, well-seasoned food, hot drinks, physical activity, stimulating mental activity.
It should be avoided: heavy and fatty food, snacks, sweet, sour, salty food, too much bread, confectionery, meat, sausages, nutritious drinks such as beer, milk, malt drinks, lack of exercise, sleeping after eating.
