Mumio tablets contain mumijo, also called shilajit, a rare mineral-organic substance found in the mountains of Central Asia, e.g. Tien Shan in Kyrgyzstan is to be found. Shilajit accumulated in a very long process in the cracks of the mountains from plant remains, lichens, resins and especially from the milkweed plants.
